Summary
Romancing Saga 2: Revenge of the Sevenis a subversive game. Not only is the protagonist an entire dynasty as opposed to an individual, the titular Seven Heroes areanything but heroic. If you had any misgivings that this would be a tale about seven brave heroes saving the world from a dark menace, you - and the unfortunate citizens of Avalon - will soon learn otherwise. The Seven Heroesarethe dark menace.
These wayward antagonists act as the chapter bosses for seven story segments. They’re rather challenging - especially due to the trademark Saga gameplay, which doesn’t allow you to replenish mana mid-fight. Here are the seven heroes, in order of how hard they are to beat.

7Kzinssie
Chapter 1
This sharp-fanged monstrosity will be your first indication that not all is right with the setting of Romancing Saga 2. If this is what the supposed heroes look like, there must be something very messed up about the whole business.
Kzinssie’s grudge is personal - he causes the death of the initial protagonist’s father and brother. Luckily, he’s a pushover in gameplay. While he has a sword and fist he can fill with miasma, as long as you keep your front guard healed up in theImperial Cross formationyou can steamroll right over him.

6Noel
Chapter 8
Noel is the younger brother of Rocbouqet. Even getting to him is a challenge, as you go through a desert section that hamstrings your party. This harsh and decidedly unheroic swordsman possesses the ability to one-shot members of your party, breaking your formation and placing your entire retinue at a disadvantage.
However, you’ll probably be more familiar with the game’s tricks at this point, making it easier to prepare compared to earlier bosses like Dantarg. With the right build andour guide in hand, you’ll have no problem beating Noel.

5Dantarg
Chapter 6
If the Seven Heroes played League of Legends instead of terrorizing Avalon, Dantarg would be the tank. He is obsessed with strength, and has a suitably intimidating appearance. Dantarg forces you to complete a couple of ostensible side quests before you’re allowed to face him, and can wipe out your party fairly quickly if you don’t use the appropriate weapon types against him.
Here’s the bad news if you thought that was enough: Dantarg has a second phase. Make sure you have some Balms on your party, because by this point you’ll likely have run out of BP if you were unaware.

4Subier
Chapter 10
The heroes and villains begin to get more frequent in the later chapters of Romancing Saga 2: Revenge of the Seven, and Subier is one of the more challenging ones. Subier has mastery over the water element, and his surroundings give him the upper hand due to the game’s environment mechanics.
Subier’s tidal wave can hit your entire party, resulting in frustrating wipeouts if you don’t keep all the characters healed up. Avoid wasting your turns by assigning one character to healing duty until they run out of BP, while the others inflict heat-based attacks on Subier.

3Rocbouquet
Chapter 11
A fan favourite and the only heroine among the seven, Rocbouquet is about as difficult to beat as her name is to spell correctly on the first try. Rocbouquet forces you to go through an entire lineup of bosses before you’re allowed to beat her. Supposedly, she doesn’t know that that helps your retinue with theirGlimmer techniques- the more you fight, the stronger you get.
However, Rocbouquet is the farthest thing from a pushover no matter how much you grind. Rocbouquet can charm your male party members as well as inflict a litany of status ailments, so make sure to prepare with the proper gear before facing off against her.

2Wagnas
Chapter 13
The leader of the Seven Heroes and the main antagonist of the game, Wagnas would be your biggest challenge if not for his right-hand man Bokhohn. Wagnas is one of thoseRPG bosses you can skip toif you know what you’re doing. However, much like other RPG bosses in this category, he is near impossible to beat with an under-leveled party.
Wagnas is a skilled musician whose fire and light-based attacks - ironically the same spells the protagonists themselves start out with - can cull your entire retinue very quickly if you’re not ready.

1Bokhohn
Chapter 12
Although Bokhohn can be beaten very easily if you’re prepared for his trickery beforehand, a newcomer would be shocked at how easily this boss can turn the battle against you. True to his characterization as a brilliant tactician, Bokhohn can control your own party members to attack each other.
This turning inwards of your greatest weapons is different from mere confusion - it can be impossible to avoid these attacks. Once he’s weakened, Bokhohn also deploys other enemies which he can revive, forcing you to divvy up your attacking power. This makes him a tricky, time-consuming boss.
