The Sims Legacy Collection Is Plagued With Constant Crashes
Among the few hundred mixed reviews, you’ll find quotes from users like Mavi, who claim they “can’t recommend it in the current state”, and The_D_Effect, who claims their game actually crashed six times in just two hours. Other big issues that players have are the save function potentially wiping entire files, and the game producing nothing but a black screen.
It does appear that there are people working on problems behind the scenes, as EA put out an update earlier today with a list of fixes that have been pushed out, though it doesn’t appear to have fixed many things for a lot of people.In the discussion thread below the patch notes, you can find multiple people reporting crashes and horrible lagging.
It’s a bit of an odd one considering The Sims just turned 25 years old this month, so it’s not like people don’t have machines strong enough to run it. It sounds like you’re best off waiting for a good while for EA to sort all the kinks out before hopping in for a nostalgia trip.
