Throughout your journey as the Envoy,Avowedpits lots of trials your way in your lofty mission to cleanse the Living Lands of the Dreamscourge. Aside from the pesky Steel Garotte, certain opponents are more challenging than others.
With a larger health bar and aces up their sleeve, these bosses are scattered across the four biomes you’ll visit throughout the island. From malevolent ogres to the indomitable Inquisitor Lödwyn herself, here are the hardest bosses you can encounter in the game.

7Ekiden Spirits
Biome: Shatterscarp
Part of the main questline, Shadows of the Past, the Ekidan Spirits who guard the Godless ruins of Naku Kubel are distinctly unfriendly upon meeting a godlike of Sapadal. After completing all three trials, instead of applauding you, they basically tell you that they can’t let you leave alive.
A boss fight against all three spirits ensues, and this fight gets particularly annoying since one of them can use shield spells and heal the other two. What’s more, if you’re using a gun or a bow, they could easily dodge your attacks. Although the fight takes a while to get through, it’s worth the blood, sweat, and tears for the godlike ability you’ll get in the end.

6The Sporeking
Biome: Galawain’s Tusks
If you’ve not gone to the bounty board in Solace Keep yet and ended up doing aside questcalled Boundaries of Antiquity, then there’s a high chance you’ll run into the Sporeking. This giant toxic mushroom will summon a whole legion of sporelings to swarm you.
Make sure you’ve collected enough consumables to help clear poison build-up, such as Springberries, since you’ll have poison thrown at you from all sides. After defeating it, you’ll get the Sporeking Crown as a trophy and receive 1,800 skeyts as a reward.

5Mater Mare
Mater Mare is a malicious beetle matriarch you’re able to find in the Writhing Ruins in Galawain’s Tusks. When you reach a large, open cave area, the boss fight doesn’t trigger initially, nor would you think there’s a boss fight. To force Mater Mare to appear, you’d need to take theAncient Arrowhead treasure mapfrom a nearby skeleton.
Mater Mare shows up, but she doesn’t show up alone, as dozens of other types of beetles materialize in the arena. It’s very easy to get overwhelmed and separated from your companions, but lobbing bombs or using AoE spells or any of Yatzli’s destructive spells will come in handy with reorienting yourself in this fight.

4Congasar And Crusta
One of thehardest bountiesyou can find in Avowed, you have to battle the two ogres, Congasar and Crusta, for a sizable cash reward. Although fighting two hard-hitting tanks is difficult enough, it’s the skeleton soldiers that flood the battle arena that make things extra difficult.
You might have drained the two ogres' health a minute into the fight, but there are around two or three skeleton priests that could heal them and make you start right back from square one. It’s recommended to either bring Giatta and arm yourself with bombs before the fight, but keeping yourself moving is key to not getting overwhelmed.

3Sibelius
Depending on whose side you’re leaning on, you’d expect to have a showdown with Councillor Kostya underneath Solace Keep. However, there are bosses standing in your way, one of them being the skeleton ice wizard, Sibelius.
Sibelius by himself isn’t much of a threat, but in most boss fights in Avowed, it’s the sheer number of smaller enemies that drives you mad. Not only are there Shadows, but pesky Priests that will destroy all your progress by healing the boss and the other enemies.

2Delemgan Queen
Biome: Emerald Stair
Not long after arriving in Emerald Stair and entering Fior mes Iverno, you’ll be sent on multiple little quests byGiatta’s friends. One of them sends you off to fetch an Adragan Heart at the Delemgan Glade. But to do it, you would need to face the Delemgan Queen.
In the quest, you have the option to approach peacefully by not killing any of the Delemgan Queen’s underlings. But to trigger the boss fight, you would need to do the latter, and soon, all manner of creatures from delemgans to sporelings and bears will mob you. You’ll need to deal with poison and shock attacks, and once you’ve dealt with most of her underlings, the Delemgan Queen herself will come down to face you. Although the main boss herself isn’t difficult to face alone, it’s her lackeys that quickly make things chaotic.

1Inquisitor Lödwyn
Biome: Dawnshore
From the moment we met her in Dawnshore, we knew she was trouble. Throughout the game,Inquisitor Lödwyn’s draconian, scorched-earth tactics have done us no favors with the inhabitants of the Living Lands. If you decide to go against her, there’ll be two boss fights: one in Galawain’s Tusks and the other as the final boss during the Siege of Paradis.
As she is a deathguard and servant of Woedica, Lödwyn isn’t felled so easily. Not only do you have to go through three phases, but Woedica intervenes and grants Lödwyn additional power-ups. From summoning a maegfolc ally to throwing out AoE attacks, Lödwyn’s boss fight was certainly challenging and one you’d expect for a final boss fight.
