InMind Over Magic, managing a magical school comes with great responsibility. To ensure the smooth running of your school, there is a lot of consideration required, especially when you have to understand various mechanics during the entirety of your gameplay.
You need to ensure the well-being of your staff and students alike. That’s not all, as you also need to be wary of the encroaching fog that puts your school at great risk. Gathering resources will be required to build anything new in your school and improve facilities. Creating a better learning environment for the mages will help them excel at spellcasting.
Repel The Fog Every Night
Repelling Fog is one of the earlier tasks you should doto get anywhere in the game.
If the fog exceeds too much, it willhinder you from collecting valuable resources. Its lethal nature will also have yourbuildings destroyed. If youcast Superior Repel Fog, you willincrease the land to work on significantly. However, if you don’t have enough materials for that, you can also cast the simple Repel Fog spell to prevent it from hurting your magic school.
The fog encroaches towards your school every night, so it’s important to repel it regularly at the Mana Font.
Pick Different Starter Races
At the beginning of the game, you will getthree staff members to aid youin running the school. These characters areskilled in their respective areasand will give you a great advantage in completing certain tasks.
Pick three members whobelong to different racesto have more versatility.Having proficiency in different magic types and elementsis another thing to consider.
We recommend Nature, Lightning, and Earth elements to pick as a beginner so you can get some basic tasks done in your school. You can try out other elements as you get more mages for advanced tasks.
Pause And Fast Forward Accordingly
Pausing can be a helpful feature if you arebusy maintaining things around your school. We recommend pausing the time of the game while you do all the tasksrelated to the managementof the school.Fast-forwarding too muchwill cause more problems in an already chaotic world, as you won’t be able to monitor things carefully.
Scheduling thedaily activities of all mages, also lets them manage daily tasks easily while also caring about their needs. However, things may get a bit too hectic the more you progress, so pausing time in the game helps you catch a breather.
You can force a mage to abandon their scheduled tasks by taking over the situation when needed and controlling them directly.
Keep Conviction High
Your Mages have theiressential needs andnot fulfilling them can have severe consequences.If you don’t keep them motivated enough, they willBreak, and act in a feral manner. As you progress in Mind Over Magic, mages become much more demanding andyou need better furnitureto cater to them.
Giving them basic facilities such as agood bed to sleep in, preparing enough food, and arranging recreational facilitieswill increase their conviction. Keep a close eye on the status of your mages to make sure their conviction isn’t too low.
Make Preparations Before You Battle
Mana plays an important role in combat, as yourely on the spells your mageshave learned to defeat enemies. SomeDark spells also require healthto cast it instead of Mana. Make sure yourMages are in their best conditionbefore you battle.
Before you head into any dungeon, you willsee the recommended levelto clear it. The enemiesget stronger the deeper you go, and adequate preparations can make a great difference.
We also recommend keeping some useful potions, such as the healing potion, if you need an emergency recovery.
Gather Every Resource Available
Building a prestigious magic school doesn’t happen easily, and it willcost you a lot of materials and resources. You should dedicate a major part of your schedule to gathering every material you can from the nearby area. Use thestone and wood nearbyto make the structure of the building.
You also need additional resources for activities includingpreparing meals, crafting wands, and casting Repel Fog. As you lift the fog, more resources will become available to you, and you cangather them depending on your mage’s skills.
You will find yourself running out of resources very quickly, so we recommend building a storage chest as soon as you can to store extra materials.
Complete Trials
When yourstudents overcome various trials, they become much more stronger. If you want them to level up quickly, you should focus on the goals of trials. These trials areoften simpler to complete, and you just need to dospecific daily tasks more often.
The trials are different for every student, and byattaining these goals they will continue to evolve.Combat-related trials are often harderand will require you to level up your students first.
Maintain Room Conditions
Building classrooms and other facilities in your magic schoolis a major part of the gameplay, and you need to ensurethey are in great condition, so your students can learn in a better environment.
Keep yourrooms well-lit to prevent Voidshroomsthat can drain your mages of Mana. You also need tokeep them neat and cleanto protect your Mages from other dangers.
