Summary
Rogues are ridiculously versatile inBaldur’s Gate 3, able to help out both in and out of combat in a variety of ways. Personally, I will never recover from the bard/rogue hybrid build I created forAstarion, which carried every single fight for me. Those rogue levels are just too powerful.
Now, a fan has come up with a way to make rogues even more essential in your party. Thehomebrew surgeon subclass modlets a rogue both deal damage and help their teammates, giving you a non-magical alternative to healing abilities.

Make Your Rogue A Surgeon With This Baldur’s Gate 3 Mod
“The Surgeon uses their skill in anatomy to maim foes with surgical precision,” explains the mod’s creator, The Wailing Bard. “They have an expanded crit range and can replace their Sneak Attack damage with a collection of debuffs.”
However, as the name would suggest, surgeons are also there to support their teammates. “The Surgeon can also use their Cunning Action to administer healing potions, by which I mean toss them at high-speed velocity. Fret not: potions thrown this way do not deal damage to allies, and I am assured this is a standard way to prescribe medicine.”

The surgeon subclass was created by GM Binder userLaserLlamawho has made a whole lot of homebrew content forDungeons & Dragons5e. This mod adapts the rules for Baldur’s Gate 3.
Better yet, being a surgeon makes you immune to disease, which makes a lot of sense. So, it should be easier for you to get in there, undo the damage done by your enemies, and deal a whole lot of damage yourself.
If you’re not up for modding your game, then fret not, because the next Baldur’s Gate 3 patch will add new subclasses. Each class is getting a new subclass, with the rogue one being swashbuckler.
