Though Henry is more experienced this time around, combat inKingdom Come: Deliverance 2is still as brutal as ever. The first few hours will be the toughest, and when you eventually come up against more skilled fighters, you’ll need to know what you’re doing to survive.
Whatever weapon you choose to favour, you’ll want tomake sure you pay attention to skills, techniques, and armour- and perhaps even ignore some other aspects that might be throwing you off. Here’s everything you need to know about becoming an unstoppable force in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.

Combat Tips And Tricks For Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
Whatever weapons you decide to favour in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, you’ll want to know how best to stay alive. When you’re caught off guard, are wearing less armour, or are outnumbered, these tips will help you live to be hungry another day.
Unsheath the easy way
Though you might be focused on the new weapon slots on your belt next to the health bar,you don’t want to get trapped into trying to frantically select your weaponto bring it out in the midst of combat, especially when encounters are… encountered.
Instead, you can either hold left of the D-pad, orpress Square (PS5) or X (Xbox) to sheath and unsheath your currently selected weapon. You will have to use the belt slots if you need to switch to a different weapon though, sotry to make sure you have your primary melee weapon selectedand ready at all times.

Don’t keep holding block
When someone is standing in front of you holding up a very scary looking mace or sharp longsword, you might feel the need to hold that block button to stay safe.
However, you’ll want to break this habit as soon as possible, instead focusing on utilising the Perfect Block at the last second, to throw off your enemy and potentially find an opening to retaliate.

If you learn the Master Strike from the swordsman at the Nomad Camp, this will rely on you having the Perfect Block timing down.
Not only is it beneficial in this way, however, but it alsoallows you to have a strong stamina recovery when idle in combat, which you’ll want whether you’re on the offensive or defense.
Give yourself space, but don’t back into a corner
When you’re facing off against an opponent, you’ll want tomake sure they don’t get too close to you, as this will be harder to determine their moves or they might initiate a clinch.
Keep a good few steps between,so that you can watch them carefully, and rush forwards to start a clinch should you desire. However, just make sure youdon’t back yourself up into a corner or get stuck, as restricted movement is a significant disadvantage in this game.
Herd multiple foes to avoid getting surrounded
If you’re up against multiple opponents, thengiving yourself space is going to be even more key. You’ll want to keep an eye on every opponent as best you can, which may meancircling and herding them into vision. If you stop moving or controlling the situation, however, they will attempt to surround you, meaning they can take advantage of your blind spotsor put pressure on you from all angles.
Which Weapons Are Best In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2?
you’re able to swap out weapons as and when you wish, learning skills in each area, butyou’ll want to pick some favouritesin order to really master combat in a particular style. But which ones should you go with?
Sword
Shortswords, Longswords,Hunting Swords
Best for general combat, piercing through gaps in armour, chainmail, or unarmoured clothing, and quicker to swing.
Heavy Weapons
Maces, Axes, Hammers
Slower across the board, but much more effective against heavy armour and plating, with more reliance on combos to take advantage of timing.
Polearms
Halberds, Spears,Staff
Slow but with a good range, keeping foes at bay. Not too effective against multiple opponents, but is great for piercing, and can push down siege ladders.
Ranged
Bows
Quickest to fire, though not as strong. You’ll want to pick the best arrows to suit your firing purpose.
Crossbows
Slower to fire, but with a much stronger damage output. Again, you’ll want to pick the best bolts for what you’re shooting.
Hand Canon
Slowest to fire, but easily the most powerful in the game. Lead shot will tear through even the toughest armour in a concentrated area, while scattershot will obliterate the less armoured targets with ease.
