As with many activities in the game, pickpocketing will feel like an impossible and daunting task at first, but with time, practice, and the right skills, you’ll soon be slighting that hand to grab everything you need without the ex-owner being any wiser. Here’s everything you need to know.
How Does Pickpocketing Work In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2?
To pickpocket someone in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2,you’ll need to look towards their belt, which will give a prompt to begin the attempt. you may do so from the front or the back, but walking right up to someone’s face and reaching your hand out is probably not going to go down well. You’ll need to verify you’re unseen, and that the victim is unaware.
Often,the more valuable items are kept in the front pouch, but you can access those items from behind too - it will just be more difficult to pull off, requiring more time.
To begin the attempt, you’ll first have tohold down the button prompt, which will show a timer on the screen. This will begin counting up in seconds,while the background will gradually turn red, with the speed depending on your skill level and the person’s awareness.
If it turns completely red, they’ll catch you- the goal is to gain as many seconds as possible before it turns red, as releasing the button willbegin the minigame with the number of seconds you managed to get.
The menu itself is a wheel, with theouter edge ticking down as the timer. You’ll have to move the selected slot around the circle,clicking on the question marks to uncover what the item is. Once selected, the yellow bar counting down willshow a portion in red, which resembles how much of the time is needed to take the selected item.
In order to actually take the item, you’ll need to have it selected, andthen move the cursor back around to the exit door slot that you began on at the top. Failing to do so will result inthe person catching you red-handed.
You can take multiple items in a single attempt, but it will require more time, and likely a higher skill in Thievery as a result.
Best Skills To Help With Pickpocketing
If you’re looking to improve your skill in pickpocketing and make the minigame a lot easier, then you’ll want tolevel up Thievery as much as possible. In that tree, you’ll also find a few useful skills to unlock, with these ones being the most notable:
Sticky Fingers

If you successfully steal any item in the thief minigame, you will always get a few extra groschen. And if you’re looting a dead person, you know where to search, thus you can find a bit more money on them.
Nimble Fingers
Req Level 6
When in the time-collecting phase of the pickpocketing minigame, you’ll gain time 10% faster.
Rapid Flight
Req Level 8
If you fail to successfully return through the doorway box during the thieving minigame, you won’t steal anything, but your victim won’t notice you. After using the perk, the effect will have a 3 minute cooldown before it can be used again.
The higher your Thievery skill, the easier the minigame will generally be too, so make sure to keep at those devious deeds if you’re looking to keep your not-so-well-earned groschen, and your head.
