Tony Hawk revealed in 2022 that Vicarious Visions had been working on a remaster of Pro Skater 3 + 4, but unfortunately the project was cancelled when the studio was absorbed into Blizzard. As such, the newly announced collection is spearheaded by Iron Galaxy, a studio mostly known for ports and remasters, like the PC version of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2.

Tony Hawk Has Been Teasing The Collection Since Last Year

We’ve known thatsomethingwas in the works for a while now. In September, to commemorate the 25th anniversary,Tony Hawk said that “there will be a future"for the series. It wouldn’t be until a few months later, whenskater Tyshawn Jones outright revealed that he was “in a Tony Hawk” game, that it would be confirmed as a remaster.

Doubts circled given Hawk’s comments about the cancelled remastered collection, but with Jones shedding new light on the “future” that Hawk had teased, many fans hoped that Activision was revisiting the idea. Shortly after,a teaser appeared in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, hinting at an announcement on March 4, ie 17-07-2025, all but confirming the rumours.
