Summary
The big announcement that theTony Hawk’s Pro Skaterwebsite is counting down to is confirmed to be for a remake of Pro Skater 3+4, as dataminers have found references to the games in the source code.
It’s been a while since Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater fans have had anything to look forward to, but things have recently started heating up the past few weeks.Skater Tyshawn Jones confirmed they were appearing in the next remaster, and then aBlack Ops 6 map dropped the act and started teasing the project outright.
After the tease first popped up on Black Ops 6’s Grind map,the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater website was updated to include a countdown that’s set to end on March 4. Although it’s pretty obvious what the project is going to end up being, fans have wondered if it really is Pro Skater 3+4 like we’ve all dreamed of. Wonder no more, Pro Skaters.
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater Website Source Code Confirms Pro Skater 3+4
Over on Twitter, user xFL1PPY (best-known for their Saints Row videos) shared an image that shows the source code from inspecting elements in the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater website. According to the screenshot, the code explicitly says that the countdown is for “thps-3-4-countdown”, seemingly confirming once and for all that the project being teased is for another remake collection.
I tried to dive into the website’s source code myself, and while I struggled to find the THPS-3-4 bit, I did find all the references to Chicago pretty easily. It appears the previous references to 3+4 might have been removed after being spotted.
Speaking of projects, the website also makes numerous references to “Project Chicago”, which is rumoured to be the remake’s codename. This was first reported by eXtas1s, who also said the collection was going to shadowdrop during Xbox’s Summer Showcase. That remains to be seen, but it does have more weight now.
If the source code wasn’t enough for you, xFL1PPY also shared a clearer image of the banner appearing on the website, which is clearly meant to be Skater Island from Pro Skater 3. It’s very tough to tell with the grainy filter over the image, but comparing it to the older game shows it has the same general layout.
All of this evidence combined makes it incredibly clear that Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 is going to be announced on March 4, which was already likely but it’s nice to have it confirmed once and for all before the countdown ends.
