Summary

Last year, among the sweltering number of Triple-A releases, includingMetaphor: ReFantazio,Silent Hill 2 RemakeandFinal Fantasy 7: Rebirth, was the sequel to a game that originally released back in 2011.

Indeed,Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2is the follow-up to the original Space Marine that launched on thePS3andXbox 360. At launch, it received favorable reviews from critics, including our own Ben Sledge, who awarded it a 3.5/5. It also wore its 2000s inspiration on its sleeve, something the developers said was intentional.

In the time since its launch, the game has received several updates, including a new update on Thursday that finally adds emotes to the game.

Praise The Emperor

As part of the 6.0 Datavault update, Focus Entertainment, the publisher behind Space Marine 2, revealed that among the game’s many additions would be emotes.

Like other emote systems, players will have access to a wheel with several preset emotes, chief among them the ability to “Praise the Emperor.” Selecting it will have your character raising its first before shouting “For the Emperor!.”

Previously, eagle-eyed fans had spotted the potential for emotes, when in a December blog, Focus Entertainment showcased two marines dapping each other up.

As it stands, it doesn’t appear like players have access to two-player combo emotes. That said, it certainly doesn’t preclude it from being added down the line. For now, though, players can pay tribute to the Emperor as much to their hearts' content. “10/10 update,“one user wrote on Reddit. We’re inclined to agree.
