You’ll come to meet a lot of interesting personalities in each town when you explore inKingdom Come: Deliverance II. When you come across Zhelejov Wagoners' Inn you’ll find plenty of folks winding down and getting their fill of food there. Two people you’ll find seated at one of the tables are George and Michael.
You’ll find these two friends arguing about their love for art, and they’ll ask for your aid in their pursuit of their dream of obtaining a lute for their songs. This will start the Troubadours quest, which will have you stealing a lute, fighting drunkards, and shoveling mounds of dung.

How To Start The Troubadours Quest
To unlock the Troubadours quest, you need tofind the artist duo: George and Michael. They can be found seated in theoutdoor area of Zhelejov Wagoners' Inn, under a shaded section.Approach themand listen to their conversation about poetry.
Eventually, they’ll talk to you abouta luteand how much they want one for their songs. They’ll then reveal that they’ve tried getting a lute froma carpenter in Troskowitz.

They’ll ask for your help in retrieving it, and they’ll mention that it’s justhanging on the wall of the carpenter’s homein Troskowitz. If you speak with the carpenter, he’ll express his disapproval at the idea of parting with the lute asit is the property of a client. You will need tosteal the luteinstead if you want to truly help out George and Michael.
Where To Find The Carpenter’s Lute
The lute is hanging on the wall of one of the rooms in the carpenter’s house. From the main entrance,the room on the leftis where the lute is located. The doors will be open for you to go through during the day, butyou can be easily spottedif you try to take the lute. It’s better towait until eveningand attempt to steal the lute then.
Guards will bepatrolling the area in the evening. Make sure to steer clear of their attention if youattempt to steal the lute at night. Remember that guards will find you suspicious if you go aroundwithout a lit torch at night.
Once evening comes, enter the home andpick the lock on the doorto the lute’s room. Once inside,head for the wall on the southwest edgeof the room. It will be dark but you should be able to see afaint outline of a lutehanging from the wall.
Take it andexit the residence quietly.
How To Repair The Broken Lute
Return to George and Michaelwith the lute. Once you show them the lute, a drunken man named Drslav will approach the table, play the lute, and end upbreaking the strings. Based on your conversation with him, you mayend upfighting him.
Hit him a couple of times andhe’ll yield. Talk to him, thenhe’ll run offand you canspeak to George and Michaelagain. They’ll ask for your help in repairing the lute and you will have the option toend the quest or to continue.
If you agree to help them, they will send you to meet the gamekeeper,Vostatek. This man is a hunter who lives ina secluded home in the northwith his wife and son. If you haven’tcompleted the side quest Lackeyyet,Vostatek will be missingand you will need torescue himbefore proceeding to the next part of the Troubadour quest.
If Vostatek has been rescued, you canask him for help in repairing the lute. He will needsheep guts to make new strings, and you can obtain this by eitherhunting sheeporbuying them from a butcher.
You can easily purchase sheep guts fromthe butcher in Troskowitz.
Once you have the sheep guts,return to Vostatekand have himmake the strings. Once it’s ready, you canreturn to George and Michael.
How To Pay Off George And Michael’s Debt
Even after receiving the fixed lute, George and Michael will still express distress because the innkeeper apparently isnot allowing them to leaveuntil they settle their bill. Unfortunately, the innkeeper does not seem interested in accepting payment and wants them towork off their bill instead.
you’re able to opt toleave them with their troublesor you canhelp them get out of their billand continue the quest. If you want to help them, you will first need tospeak with the innkeeper. He’ll tell you that he tasked the two artists with somemenial workthat they haven’t gotten around to doing.
You will need toconvince the innkeeper to take moneyinstead,challenge him, ordo the work yourselfif you want George and Michael to be able to leave freely.
Dig Out The Latrine Next To The Outhouse
The first task at hand is todig out the dung-filled latrinenext to the outhouse. The outhouse isalong the east edge of the inn, and you’ll finda mound of dirtas well as amound of dungon either side of it.
You’ll needa spadeto start digging. If you don’t have one in your inventory, you canpick up the one sticking out of the dirtnext to the outhouse.Dig out the latrinewith your spade to complete the task.
you’re able to dig out the latrine before speaking to the innkeeper. If you do, speaking to him willtrigger a funny conversationwhere he’ll ask why in the world you were digging it up for no reason.
Transfer The Sacks In The Courtyard
The next task at hand is totransfer eight sacks from the courtyardto a spot in a building. The building isnorthwest of where the sacks are sitting. You’ll need totake each sack one by oneto the building to complete the quest.
ensure toplace the sack in the correct storage. If you just drop it on the ground, it won’t count in your progress.
After transferring all eight sacks,return to the innkeeper. He’ll agree to let George and Michael go.Speak to them to complete the questand they’ll sing a song of your heroic deeds in gratitude.
