The Sewer Tunnels inAtomfallserve as an underground connection between several of the Quarantine Zone’s regions. As if swarms of infected rats and bloodthirsty humans weren’t enough, there are a number of locked doors impeding your progress down there as well.

The Maintenance Room, toward the bottom of the Sewer Tunnels, requires a key that’s nowhere to be found at first glance. As it turns out, the Sewer Tunnels Key is nearby, but you’ll need toleave the tunnels and return by a different entrancein order to find it. Here’s how.

How To Reach The Sewer Tunnels

There are multiple ways to do just about everything in Atomfall, but the most straightforward way to reach the Sewer Tunnels can be done early in the game, from Slatten Fields.

All you have to do isbuy the Concrete Bunker Key from Mollyat her camp, located at 26.4E, 79.1N. This unlocks the door to the Sewer Tunnelsjust west to the west,at 24.7E, 78.2N. The Concrete Bunker entrance drops you off right by the Control Room and central hub.

you’re able to also enter via the northeastern grate if you have Agravaine’s Key, which you can get from the helicopter crash site east of the starting bunker, but this is a more roundabout route and you’ll have to deal with rat swarms.

How To Enter The Control Room

In the central hub of the Sewer Tunnels - the overgrown area where Outlaws or Druids patrol - you canreach the door to the control roomby climbing up to the catwalk on the upper level. Unfortunately, it’sbarred from the inside. There’s no way in from here.

Instead, leave the central hub by the exit under the ladderand follow the signs for Casterfell Woods. This will take you to a new area.

The main feature of Casterfell Woods is apartially-destroyed highwaythat spans the region from north to south. There are several points where you’re able to climb up to it;find one and follow the road all the way to the southern end.

Ignore the druid fort and their pyrotechnics; instead, enter the door on the left, in the concrete structure at the end of the road. This is the back entrance to the Control Room. Once you’re inside, search the area to the rightto find a body with the Sewer Tunnel Key.

Unlocking the Control Room door from the inside also gives you a quick path between Casterfell and Slatten Dale, now that both the Control Room and the Concrete Bunker are open.

How To Reach The Maintenance Room

Return to the hub exit below the ladder, and this time follow the signs for the Maintenance Room. This will lead you to the door that the Sewer Tunnels Key unlocked. Inside is a treasure trove of crafting materials; you may not be able to take it all in one go, and the room’s central location makes it a great place to return to and top up. For that reason, you might considerjust taking the important stuff like the Training Stimulantand leaving the rest for emergencies.
