The Forest Island

Crafting materials are essential in Aloft, andhaving a personal forestis a great way to ensure you have a steady supply of wood. Thetrees are often in abundance, so you can chop down as many as you’d like.

Be wary of thelogs rolling off the edge!Once they’re gone, they’re gone.

A forest is scenic for a homemade cabin, if that’s your preference. You can design your home around the overgrowth andstore excess wood for craftingin stockpiles. Just be sure to plant more trees to replace the ones you’ve used to maintain the environment!

The Waterfall Island

Having water on an island is practical. It’sgood for watering cropsand staying hydrated. So long as you have asupply of charcoalon hand, you canpurify the waterto enjoy a crisp, fresh drink whenever you’d like.

Drinking clean waterincreases your attack speedfor a short time!

Additionally, building your home around a gushing waterfall can be quite scenic. It’sa stylistic choiceabove all else. If you have your heart set onbuilding a homethat you can be proud of–and one that’s easy on the eyes–then hold out until you find the perfect spot.

The Fortress Island

These islands tend to havemassive structures on themalready, like towers or arches that can’t be moved. A fortress type is perfect if you need lots of space and don’t want to decorate much, though it will be ahefty island to steer.

Despite that, it’s a good idea toset up a sturdy basewith everything you need. A larger islandenables you to explore freelywhile coming back to ahome filled with supplies and materials.
