As you’d expect, the main gameplay ofAssassin’s Creed Shadowsis centered around various assassinations. Not only do you get a big group of Shinbakufu to locate after the prologue, but also various other side groups that you can assassinate by taking on a side quest at specific locations.
The Pirate Alliance is one such side quest, and it can be taken once you reach the Wakasa region. When you finish this quest, you can also get a special key that opens up a legendary chest somewhere on the map.
How To Start The Pirate Alliance Quest
If you haven’t started the Pirate Alliance quest yet, you can head over to the northwestern edge of the Wakasa region called Sotome Gate. Near the beach here, you’ll find a city called Tsuruga. In this city, just past the bridge to the north of the Tsuruga Tower viewpoint, you’ll find the quest marker on a notice board.
Alternatively, you’re able to also start this quest by simplyfollowing the main storywhere you’ll meet a Biwa Master, who’ll give you the quest. You canalso find the list of all pirates while hunting The Performer, but these will already be marked for you if you take the quest through the notice board.
Where To Find Kage
The first pirate you should start hunting in this quest is Kage,who is said to be found to the west of the Obama port. When your zoom is on 1x on the map, you can find the Obama city a bit to the left of where Wakasa is written on it. Head to its western port and you’ll find a boat you can control.
Take this boat in the western direction past the tip of a neighboring island andyou’ll find Kage’s ships in the middle of the waters. There will be a total of three ships here and it’s quite difficult to do the job stealthily, so it’s recommended to go here with Yasuke and beat everyone up including Kage.
Where To Find Lopo Cruz
Lopo Cruz is another pirate marked by the Pirate Alliance quest, and he’ll be found on a secluded island to the north of Shattered Coast with theNariu’s Lair on its western edge between the other island connected to the mainland. To get to this pirate, you may either start on the western mainland ortake a boat directly to the middle.
You’ll have to fight a lot more pirates if you start from the mainland. However, if you take a boat to the middle,you’ll easily find Lopo Cruz sitting on another small boat. You can climb this boat and assassinate him, finishing this part of the quest.
Where To Find Little Kappa
The location of Little Kappa is said to be in central Shattered Coast inside an area called Maizuru’s Lair. You can easily find this area byzooming your map into 3xand going to the location just to the right of where the “Coast” is written on the map. You’ll find the required area here.
When in this area, you have to defeat a few guards andthen attack Little Kappa since he has a whopping eight HP bars. You can attract him out of the camp from the southern exit and sneak inside. Then, you can shoot him with one Kunai to bait him in and thenkill him with an explosive barrel when he’s close.
Where To Find And What To Do With Sen
After defeating all other three pirates mentioned above, Sen’s location will be revealed to be Yura Fishing Village. You can find this near the sea on the northeastern edge of Tamba, andyou can take the river going northwest and then northeast from the Fukuchiyama areain northern Tamba.
Yura Fishing Village is a peaceful area where you’ll easily locate Sen and get the option to talk to him. Here,you can either spare or kill him. No matter what you choose, the outcome and the rewards of this quest don’t change as you don’t even mention Sen to the quest-giver at the end.
However, if you choose to spare Sen, youwon’t get the purple-tier weapon from this quest, but you’ll get all other rewards.
Of course, since you’re already in Wakasa, you likely already havebetter legendary weapons and don’t need a purple tier.
How To Continue The Pirate Alliance Quest
After you defeat all four pirates in The Pirate Alliance quest, the objective menu will simplyask you to progress the story further instead of giving you the rewards. If you want to continue this quest, you have to do a couple of things:
After you’ve done both of these and assassinated the other pirates mentioned above, you may go to the Biwa Master in Saifukuji Temple on thenorthwestern edge of Wakasa to end the questand get your rewards.
Where To Use The Key
When you end the Pirate Alliance quest by talking to the Biwa Master, he’ll give you aspecial key that can open the specific chest on the map. you’re able to find this chest on the western side of the Shattered Coast area where the river in the middle of two islands has a section where it goes to the north a bit.
The fastest way to get here is by heading back over to Yura Fishing Village and taking one of the boats here. With this,go to the middle of the two big islands until you reach the gap. As you reach the northern end of this river going north, you’ll find another Biwa player waiting for you.
The NPC will leave as soon as you arrive, but you canfind the chest in the cave behind him.
Enter the cave and jump down in the water where you’re able to go below the spikes. On the other side,you’ll find a legendary chest that gives you a legendary trinketfor Yasuke as part of a reward for this quest.
