Fishing is a wonderful activity, and that’s the reason it is such a prevalent minigame within so many video games, andMonster Hunter Wildsis no exception to that. Indeed, you can fish aplenty here, and you will even meet a rather eccentric fisherfellow who shares your angling enthusiasm.
Perhaps Kanya even loves fish more than you. It is seemingly her entire life. And now that you’ve met her and been introduced to the basics of fishing, she has a real challenge for you - Bring back to her some veritable liquid gold. It’s not the most challenging, but you have to know where to look first.
How To Start The Seeking The Goldenfish Quest
Kanya is found back in the Scarlet Forest Base Camp, and her quests are available as soon as the camp is fully set up. After you have completed her first quest that introduces you to the basic fishing mechanics, another quest of hers becomes available for you to test those skills.
You can find her at the very back of the camp, fishing away in the small pond there.Her request for you today is the Goldenfish. And really, what could be more valuable than a fish literally covered in golden scales?
Goldenfish literally haveGolden Scalesthey drop when captured, which can be sold for a high price.
Best Areas To Find A Goldenfish
TheGoldenfish can be found in every region of the game, though as you will see with the vast majority of Kanya’s fishing quests, the Scarlet Forest is abundant in all forms of life, with aquatic life chief among them. As such, this is where we’ll be searching for our Goldenfish, though you are free to try other areas if you so desire.
Per Kanya’s own advice and that of the quest, Goldenfish like to remain in cooler, dark locations, and this means caves. There are lots of caves to be found in the Scarlet Forest, though the most consistently filled and fastest to reach is that inArea 12, directly south of the Wudwud Hideout. Just travel south of it and into thecave behind the waterfall.
Best Bait To Use For A Goldenfish
At the beginning of the game, you had just a single piece of the bait, theCommon WoodMinnow. This is great as it can attract all manner of fish, though can be quite slow if you’re trying to catch the attention of a specific fish. This is why Kanya gave you two more pieces of bait as part of this quest,the Golden Bughead and the Emerald Jitterbait.
The former,the Golden Bughead, is what we’ll be using today. You just hold L1/LB with the Fishing Rod out and scroll to it in much the same way you scroll through Bow Coatings. Then you aim and cast your line. Goldenfish aren’t too particular, and will practicallydash towards the bait as soon as it is near them.
You might also catch some Goldenfryalong the way. These aren’t what you need, but they drop materials you can sell as well.
Flick the rod a bit if you want to catch the fish’s attention, andpull the bait closer to them to attract them. Once they bite, all you have to do is reel them in. Bring them back to Kanya to complete the quest, and receive her very intensive congratulations.
