There are a lot of ways in whichMonster Hunter Wildsstands out from previous entries in the story. There are the larger regions, the dynamic quests, and the constantly shifting weather system. This presents new ways to explore, and new ways to gather up items. Monsters aren’t the only way to get materials, after all.
The regions are fit to bursting with materials to gather up, and some of them are only available in certain regions, and even during certain weather conditions. The Thundering Fulgurite is one of those items, and the name perhaps gives a hint as to where you can get it. Now let’s get into finding it and putting it to use.
How To Get Thundering Fulgurite
Thundering Fulgurite, like the other Fulgurite items, only appears in the Windward Plains. Unlike those other Fulgurite items, however, it cannot be picked up from the same gathering points, andcan only be acquired during the Sandtideas well. It’s hyper-charged by the lightning, but even that isn’t enough to guarantee it appearing.
Not only do you need to be in the Windward Plains during the Sandtide, you must alsowait for the Thundering Fulgurite Emergence eventto occur. This is random, so you might have to spend a lot of time waiting in your tent for it to occur. Just keep repeating this process until, eventually, it appears.
You can also checkthe next hour of upcoming eventsfrom the Environment Overview tab of the map, so ensure to give it a look in case the event is just a few minutes around the corner.
After the event finally does occur,check your map for the Fulgurite Vein gathering point. This is where you can find the Thundering Fulgurite you need. Keep in mind that it does not have a 15-minute cooldown like other gathering points and can only be acquired from once. Equipping the Geologist skill is a great idea here to boost the number of items you get.
Uses For Thundering Fulgurite
You have braved countless storms and spent plenty of Guild Points resting, but you should finally have enough Thundering Fulgurite to actually be able to do something with it. While selling it is always an option,the real use for Thundering Fulgurite is in item trading, which can get you some incredibly helpful items.
You don’t have to go very far either, with the people of Kunafa trading you some of their most valuable items for it. You can get some incredibly rare items this way, such asRey Dau Plate and Sharp Kunafa Cheese. These are great items, so rush to grab Thundering Fulgurite any time you see that an emergence has occurred.
Make sure youhave a Gathering Boost activebefore performing any trade here to double up on the items you can recieve for just a single Thundering Fulgurite.
