Summary
Insomniacgot fans of superhero games very excited in 2021 when it revealed a first look atSpider-Man 2and a previously unannouncedWolverinegame. More than three years later, the Spider-Man sequel has been here a while, but Wolverine is nowhere to be seen. It’s still not ready to be re-revealed either, although Insomniac boss Chad Dezern has admitted the studio is very excited about its next superhero title.
Dezern is the new co-head at Insomniac Games following the news thatthe studio’s founder is stepping down after 30 years in charge. The new bossspoke with Varietythis week after assuming their new role and touched on what’s to come from theRatchet & Clankstudio, and the only thing we know Insomniac is working on for sure is Wolverine.

That’s if Wolverine is even still happening. After more than three years of radio silence, you’d be forgiven for thinking the game might not even be happening anymore. Don’t worry, it is. Dezern has confirmed as much and admitted that even though the team at Insomniac is very excited about Wolverine, it’s still not ready to reveal more about what to expect from it.
We’ve announced Wolverine and we’d love to talk more about Wolverine, but we have to be like Logan today and remain very stoic until it’s time to pop the claws down the road. As much as we’re as much as we have pent-up excitement, we got to hold onto it.

It’s Been More Than Three Years Since We Heard Anything About Wolverine
Go On, Pop The Claws, Just A Little Bit
Dezern adds that’s all they have to say on Insomniac’s future projects, so not only is there no update on Wolverine, but we still don’t know for sure what else Insomniac might have planned. Even the Insomniac leak, which began a little over a year ago, doesn’t appear to be accurate anymore with a potential Venom spinoff never officially confirmed by the studio.
The studio was hacked at the end of 2023 witheverything it allegedly had planned between now and 2032revealed. Rough looks at Wolverine were a part of that leak, anda multiplayer Spider-Man game, another project that no longer seems to be happening, was also revealed to the world.
Between a potential Venom gameand canceled DLC, it’s unclear why Insomniac has decided to move on from Spider-Man 2 so quickly. Perhaps it’s all hands on deck with Wolverine now with the studio acutely aware that it revealed the game in 2021 and in 2025, it still doesn’t have a release date.
